Yes, a microeinstein (µE) is a unit of irradiance. 1 einstein equals 1 mole of photons, so 1 µE = 1 µmol of photons.

5 µE.m-2.s-1 is roughly equivalent to:
- 1 footcandle
- 1 lumen per square foot
- 10.76 lux.

PAR (Photosynthetic Active Radiation) is usually measured in µE.m-2.s-1

Eric,
In some of the articles I have been reading on lighting(some beyond me) they mention microeinstein. What are they, is all I can work out is they have something to do with irradiance.
