will that be around 2 weeks from now?

I have an a/c for the apt, but I can't run it 24/7, it would cost too much. my place gets hot really quick, it's like a green house, so I need the chiller to keep up with the temp. swings.

oh, haha, if you can ask what the 1/3 and 1/2 are. I found some deals on ebay I might go with. I don't want to have to spend $1000 on the chiller.
thanks!

wedfr, that would be cool, let me know what the 1/2 hp model c-0500 would cost. I was thinking of that one, or the current usa 1/3hp model with the heater included.

I just run my Air Conditionier - cools the people at the same time.
i also have fans over the tank and sump set up on temp control to go on if the tank gets warm and my lights can then shut if it still gets hotter.
Personally, i find that money better used on an Aquacontroller to turn on fans / shut off lights rather than use that money on a chiller.
Thats what i did.

hey Albert, wedfr, I don't have a normal space i need to cool. I'm on the top floor, so my ceiling is the roof with no insulation, I have a 25' long by 20' high wall of glass / skylight. In the summer the heat in that space would melt you. I solved the problem last year and installed a 35,000 btu wall unit. it kicks ass and will cool the entire 1,300 sq ft apt. I just can't run it 24/7, that would cost way too much. On days when the temp is nice and goes in the 80's my apt gets beaten on by the sun and heats up and extra 15 degree's. I won't always be around to turn the a/c on. So to keep the tank pegged at 80 I need at least a 1/3 chiller. I have 150 gallons total in the system. If I'm not home on the hottest day of the year I could actually have to pull the water down 30 degrees. I'd rather go bigger to be safe.

I would stay away from Pacific coast chillers. THe JBJ is worth the extra money. I had a 1/4 PCI and i was so happy when i sent the POS back.

Good luck, let us know which one you go with.

a few places had the current usa's
coral reef supply was one.
On the hot days I will leave the a/c on low while I'm gone for the day. But for times when I'm away I still need the chiller. Also the a/c will help keep the tank cooler, but I still need the chiller to fine tune the temp. I look at things in the worst case scenario. one would be if the a/c where to ever break during a heat wave, and I did not have a chiller my tank would be dead in a day.
