I just finished my water change -> 75 gallons got drained, could of filled your tank up.

You will see a cycle even if you used someone's dirty water, stuff on your rocks will die and cause the ammonia to up.

Damn cali, your less than 5 miles away couldnt you wait another day? hmm Well stuff on my rock will die? its coming right outta my 30 gal tank. Only prob is I dont wanna use my old LS cuz i want WHITE WHITE sand. I was thinking I should get the fuge goin by just "transplanting" old fuge to new fuge.

you could just seed your new sandbed with a cup or two from your old tank. If you're looking to get the critters out of the sand, strain it and just dumpthe critters back into your new tank.

If the rock is going from your 30 to your 75, why not use some of that water? You wouldn't have to carry it that far! Also, if your 30 is well seasoned, you shouldn't get too much of a cycle. You'll probably get a small algea outbreak
