looking to seed my new Tank

hi, everyone I am just setting up a new tank and am looking to seed it with Beneficial Bacteria. I currently have a tank running but it has a lot of algae so I really don't want to use that as a starting point for my tank. I would like to see if anyone has a well established tank and would be able to give me a small sponge filter or something so that I can seed my Aquarium with , and not wind up having issues later on with it. I know there are no guarantees of a tank being successful just based on that but its a good starting point.

I would prefer to seed from an established tank. Not knocking it in any way.

If I put the existing rock that I have in my tank will the algae spread to the dry rock? If not I can use my rock.

If you want to come to Westchester I could give you a small amount of sand. my tank is 8.5 years but almost everything came from previous tank so its 20 years. PM me if interrsted.

It's worth the drive just to see coral cruze's tank. It's quite a tank, and he always has lots of frags to choose from.:wink1:

Bryopsis is the only issue as far as I am concerned. Most other algae will subside when nutrients are low enough. But you should pick off as much as you can. If really worried you could dry out and cure again but that could take months to do right.
