I'm trying to figure out how to connect my 1" and 3/4" threaded bulkheads to hard PVC pipes. Can someone recommend a fitting as well as what size to use?

I've included a pic of my bulkheads.

Thanks very much!

Any bulkhead I have used the PVC will slide into the bulkhead, I just use the primer and glue. The threads on the outside are for tightening the bulkheads down with the plastic circle that threads onto it.

Duh! Jaaa, thank you very much. For some reason, I envisioned the pipe fitting around the threads of the exterior of the bulkhead instead of sliding inside of it. Makes perfect sense now. Really appreciate the help man.

Pretty sure that the outside thread of bulkheads isn't standard tho, I wouldn't risk it even if something feels like it fits it is prob just a bit crossthreaded and could likedamage the threads

I agree. The outside threads are made for securing the bulkhead. If you want a threaded bulkhead get a threaded bulk head. Those pictured are SLIP.

Just cause something works does not mean that it was designed to work. When dealing with WATER and leaks, I am a fan of using things that are designed to work.

That being said, all things designed to work, sometimes do not...

I would secure a piece of PVC in the bulkhead and connect that to a slip to thread coupler in case you ever need to remove the bulkhead. I have found the schedule 40 bulkhead interior threading to be weak and often they crack when threading in and out (for whatever reason).

If you glue a section ov PVC and a coupler into the bulkhead, your less likely to crack the coupler over time (if needed to remove).
