I made a stop at DEL's house to get a lux reading from his new LED fixture. I was truly amazed by the amount of light in his tank from the get go and I also noticed that most of his coral were being bleached from too much light. After taking the reading I can safely say the i'm impressed by the astonishing numbers that I saw coming out of this fixture (these fixtures put out the same amount of light as a 400watt metal halide), as for most of the LED fixtures that I've done the test on came up short of what we as reefers require for SPS. So for any you guys out there thinking of doing the LED thing, this fixture as been totally approved by me and all of the lighting requirements that I go by for SPS.
