IceCap Ballast and Bulb Combo

Hi All,
It's almost time for me to change over my MH Bulb and want to get an idea on how other bulbs look on an 250W IceCap Ballast.

Please post pics of what bulb you are using and comment on coral growth under them.

My current rig is as follows:
250W IceCap driving a Reeflux 12K bulb. I have had good growth and the colors look pretty good.

if it's the eballast - I like the 14k phoenix on botht he Icecap and HQI ballast

I love the Ushio 14K on IC ballasts, but if you like the Reeflux 12K you won't like them as they aren't nearly as blue. You probably would like the Phoenix as Jim suggests, but I think that lamp looks a lot better on an HQI ballast than on an IC, but as you probably deduced, I'm not so into the blues--- I tried the Reeflux 12K a few years back and absolutely hated them.

Funny you say that because, I don't really like the too blue look either.

But am looking for how other bulbs look driven by the IC ballast.

Well, this is a very accurate representation of what the 250W Ushio 14K DE look like fired on IC ballasts on my system. There is no supplemental lighting, though if it were easy to do on my system, I would add some actinics for a little extra shimmer.

if you're not that fond of the blue, then don't do the Phoenix on the IceCap - it is distinctly bluer than the HQI ballast which is shown in the pics in this link
