Having trouble uploading pics

Ok I am new to this but have read the directions on how to upload pics on the site. I get to the upload part and then it show failure to upload. I assume the file is to big...How do you compress the file to make it acceptable for the site. Sorry for the probably "newbee" questions but I am a complete beginner with cameras and computers....

It is easier to use Photobucket (which is free) IMO. PB will povide a link for you to paste in your post. You won't have to worry about the size of the image that way

I should mentiuon there are other image hosting sites as well. I happen to use PB.

i also use the MSPaint go to the IMAGE options an use the Resize feature to make my images smaller.
