So after 8 weeks of treating ich by going no fish in the DT I can finally say I'm done. And it was worth it. The inhabitants look happy and healthy after a close to 4 weeks in QT.
Thanks. I tried not to add any unnatural elements into the water so I only used hypo measured at 1.009. I am so paranoid about adding anything into the tank now.
Thanks Lenny for the healthy fish. I caught some with a trap but most with the lights off and a flash light. The tangs in these pics are actually new fish I got from SWC when they first opened a month ago. I'd been fattening them up in QT and now I'm feeding less. The only other fish are a false clown and a purple tang which is still in QT and getting put in later after the hippos get used to the new tank. I had some damsels which I gave away and a royal gamma which fell victim to ich and started it all.
Yes my plan was to go 6 weeks but it took 2 weeks to bring the salinity back up to match the DT's with water from the DT. The 2 weeks also allowed me to observe any symptom that may come from the DT. And at the end I didn't have to acclimate since the water in both the QT and DT are identical.
