i notice some curling on the edge of the mantle in a few spots i hope that is just from the current. very good looking clam.

CC, we've had these for almost a week - all were fresh water dipped, so, no PM here - all are very healthy! This one took a good close up!

just want to be safe, good move with the FWD. how long do you dip croceas and maximas for ?

croceas about 15 mins - maximas depending ont eh size a little less - especially if they are smaller.

croceas i do for over an hour, maximas for only 10 mins. very nice clams.

Fresh water dips are said to kill the bacterial/parasite that causes pinched mantle disease on clams - since it is not 100% known if it is a bacteria or a parasite, more research is being done on this and Barry Neigut, one of the leaders in clam collection and husbandry is starting.
