Sure. Give me a few weeks as I have already started re-doing all of the systems at my house (again :(). I am moving my 150 into the basement and taking some other systems down. If you come to teaneck you can see my office tank where the Blue dots and Allardi clownfish are now.

Hopefully I have success pairing up the blue dots although I have failed several times in the past :(

Hey Dom

Was just wondering..

Those Orange spotted filefish you had at the swap were definitely not reef safe right?

I've read that they only really go after acropora polyps. That's basically their main diet plus and on top of that it's hard to get them eating anything else..and generally they don't do to well in captivity..

I'd love to have one.. I'm not planning on doing a SPS tank but it's only a 46g long so it's probably too small for one...

This is debatable. I don't believe they do damage to SPS at all. I haven't seen any evidence of that. Sure I've seen them pick on SPS but I have never seen any damage to tissue.

It is true they don't do well in captivity and there are many reasons for it. The main one is they are difficult to get eating prepared foods so if you buy one at an LFS, its probably been not eating for a while so it is already doomed. You have to make sure their stomachs are not sunken in at all (they need to be fat like the ones I sold at the show). IME, even if you get them eating prepared foods after their stomach is sunken in they still die.

46 gallon tank is plenty big enough for one that is eating pellets or prepared foods. I wont sell any unless they are eating pellets :)

Yeah hearing that news just made my day haha.

Finally one of my favorite fish I can actually put into my tank.

Porcupine puffer = no
Fiji Orange tail blue spotted puffer = no
Long horn cowfish = no

Orange spotted filefish = yes!
Psychedelic mandarin = yes! (if I can train it to eat prepared foods lmao)

And that's about it haha.

Dom, I loved those juv toadfish! (I also think that I was one of the only people that thought they were awesome/adorable when Randy had them, lol.) Maybe we could talk about what kind of system I would need to set up to keep them :)

They are really cool but as far as I know they need to be kept alone in a moderate size tank they do not get too big.
