That's pretty mean if you ask me

i guess theres alot of mean ppl on this site. cause i know a few ppl who keep this shark in a 75 gallon tank for several years and they are all doing fine. remember the shark grows to 24 inches as an adult... if i get it as a baby i have several years b4 he out grows the tank. not to mention he will be the only one in the tank. all the live rock will be in the sump as for i wouldnt want him to get cut and get an infection or something...

but i guess everyone has there own opinion. :goldfish2

Make sure you have plenty of hiding spots. These sharks are super agile as they are meant to make their way through tight spaces and tend to be nervous sharks. You will mainly see them at night except during feeding. Here is a pic of the trio I had. They had a large tank but during the day they spent their time huddling in the PVC caves I created for them.

IMO it is better to keep smaller sharks in smaller tanks. It is much easier to care for a 4-8" catshark in a 75 gallon than it is in a 200 gallon or more. Certainly you'll have to upgrade as the shark grows (as you have mentioned you are) but a single Adult Coral Catshark can live in a 180 without a problem at all.

Good luck and can't wait to see pics! Justin and I have 4 total Chain catsharks that have hatched and we have one more still in the egg :)
