smuggle cubs in (may be travelling) cases???

If I undertsand it right, these animals are carried in the luggages. How would anyone with rigth mind to think that they can get away with that?

Please enlighten me. Are there coutries that do use rader, sonic ... type of scans at passenger airports?

What amazes me is that the bail was only $6000 or so, and the finewas only $1600 +/-....obviously the smuggler was going to flee after he was out on bail.
The smuggler had a first class ticket, that prob cost more than the bail!

$6000 may be 3-5 years salary over there though. I know in Vietnam, a laywer is only $250 USD/month.
