Same here except today was not the first day with the AC going, highest temp on the tanks has been 77.5.

just ran home today when I realized how hot it was today and installed a/c. when I got hm tank temp was creeping to 82. back down to 79-80.

Have mine ready, but didn't have to hit the button yet. Tank is 78-79.5 all year. In the hard and expensive summer months I set my A/C to energy saver and thermostat to 79, then I close both doors to living room (yeah, I've put those folding doors so the cool air stay in the living room). Worked for me so far.

My tank has been hitting 82-83.5 :/ no chiller.

I keep mine on, it's on energy save at 77F goes from fans to a/c to off depending on the thermo.
