Point and shoot or SLR?

What kind of cameras are you using to take pics of your corals?My Old Cybershot is outdated but can't afford some of those SLR'sWondering if the Point and shoots take good pics.

Maybe consider a waterproof point and shoot...gets you closer to the coral...and can also be used during outdoor water activities.

P&S technology has progressed lightyears from where it was just 5 years ago. You can easily get good shots (even macros) with a point and shoot - and not even the top of the line! What's your budget for a new camera?

well i have the CANNON POWERSHOT SX210 IS its a pretty cool digital camera..its 14.1mp 14x wide zoom...and 720p HD video

zany, i had the same dilemma when looking for a new camera and finally decided on a micro four thirds system- the olympus pen epl-1. it's heaftier than a p&s but not as bulky as a DSLR, and the lens are interchangeable (selection is slim now but i think that'll change).
