Brewing Up A Dream

So after home brewing for awhile, I've decided that it's time to get serious about my beer brewing. I've known for a long time that I want to be involved in the industry, and I'm getting close to being able to realize my dream.

It may be awhile until I'm up and running, but the more support I have, the more I'm motivated to get it going. So let me know what you're looking for in a new brewery, let me know what you want in a craft beer, and if you're really into the idea, come join me on Facebook!

I'm sorting out all of the regulations and laws now (it's a bit overwhelming), and once I have all of that under control, I'll work on the next steps. In the meantime, I'm brewing pilot brews and trying to figure out what my first commercial offerings will be.

I don't know what I'd like in a new brewery, but if you ever get your stuff into local bars let me know so that I can go try it.

Also, are you doing primarily cask ales at this point?

If you need skilled product testers, I can be available. I've done testing for Guinness and a few others plus a lot of freelance testing lol. Maybe a booth at the next swap?????

oooh what about a wheat beer or amber?? those are my faves!!! =) haven't seen dunkels on the market either... and the ones that are out are not that good.

You need to have a serious IPA, an excellent tasting lite, try Abbita it's the best.
A great tasting Pilsner is enough to get you started. Then of course you need a great Name and Lable. See Porkslap, pretty good beer but those funny pigs have got those former kids from queens VERY far. Let me know when you are ready to talk.......

Pm me. I opened up Long Islands first Micro Brewerery called LIBC(Long Island Brewing Company) in 1995; I have been thru it all. I used a Brew-house that was a 10 barrel system from Bohemien Breweries. The licensing end is much easier now than it was before. My brewer now operates his own Micro-brewery called Bluepoint. Thank you. Me too..... It was a shame what happened to my place. However, I should of known my partner was being watched by the Government and my buisness was dragged along into the drama. Oh well....you win some and loose some. That was many years ago. Learn and move on.

Thanks all, due to the initial difficulties I'm likely going to have with distribution, the early beers will have to be "big" beers so that they don't need to be tapped as quickly. I brewed a pilot Imperial Stout recently that may go in the initial line.

An IPA or IIPA is something I'll consider, but I need to make sure it's something I'm really proud of, and something that isn't exactly like the other ten million IPAs on the market right now.

As for lighter colored beers, eventually a pilsner / lager of some sort will be in order, but I will never brew a "Light" beer. I'll gladly go on record saying this now, as "Light" beers go against everything I believe a beer should be.

Once distribution is flowing smoothly and the process is down, I'll try doing some seasonal brews.

One of the Dad's that I coach soccer with was once a professional beer judge. He used to be flown around the country to judge competitions. He's retired but he really knows his stuff.

So if you need someone who would be an impartial taster please let me know.
