RC Drama Update

So after Eric B. tried to get Bomber arrested (I'm exaggerating he just turned him into NOAA for illegal coral collection) Bomber left RC and hasn't been there since.

After that happened many people expressed concerns and now

Dr. Ron, Eric B. and Calfo have all quit RC :lol:. Man, its like a soap opera over there.

They erased the originally thread that it all went down in. It was the huge "BB Crashes" thread but everyone was debating something. And for the most part it was a science debate and dsb's were getting wrecked. So Eric B. came in during the end, made some accusations towards Bomber, deleted the thread (and his comments) and reported him.

But after that thread people opened threads in Dr. Ron's and Calfo's forum and the feedback forum. I'll try to find some of the relevant ones.
Then there were a few threads in the feedback forum

Man thats messed up, i havent gone on RC in a while but i always figured that was the way it was gonig to end up. I sided on Bombers side most of the time, thats a shame what happend.
Id say thats more then a slap in the face to report him like that, thats a fieldgoal kick right in the groin!

Why did these guys quit RC?

I am shocked that these "experts" can act so childish (reporting on illegal collecting because he doesn't believe in what Bomber does). They really wouldn't survive in a real academic environment. At scientific conferences scientists always challenge each other. It can be worst than the UFC, but nobody really takes it too personally.

Why does Eric B think that a BB tank is not a successful way to keep a reef? Many things have changed since the 80's when it was popular before DSB, i.e. penductors, tunze streams, and recirculating skimmers.

Nothing personal but things like this happen on RC all the time. I've seen many people come and go on RC over small and large disagreements. Just because the people involved here either have their own forum, on RC, or have written books shouldn't really mean a thing. If they don't come back others will take their places and I'm sure do just as well.

I think some times people get caught up in the so called "experts" on RC because they have their own forum or have written books or done papers and disreguard all the other people who have vast exprecience in the hobby. When I was on RC I was more upset over other people leaving, for what they bought to the hobby, than some of the people that where either moderator or had their own forum.

WOW... I did not know that Ron and Eric both left RC, is this confirmed?

As for Caribbean corals... I personally do not see a problem with people helping themselves to frags if done responsibly. But if you have gone diving in the Carib you probably already know that the reefs are in MAJOR trouble. The last time I went diving in Puerto Rico and Cuba I almost started crying. EVERY coral head was either dead or almost dead.

I think they were deleted for good, since that is what eric B turned bomber in for having in his tank :rolleyes:

WOW!!!lol, sucks that shimmeck won't be there...oh well, i already know limewater, baking soda, peladow and epsom salt are the cheap additives for reefs (and i believe i may have added the sites to my favorites, lol).it all just sounds very childish.\

DRAMA!!!!!!!!!
