Do I Need a Verizon SIM card?

Ok, so do I need a Verizon SIM card for my new phone. How do I go about getting a card legally? The one I have now in the phone is a VODAPHONE card. They say that is what unlocks the phone, but I don't travel the world so I don't need anything unlocked. If anyone any information or knows how to get one please let me know.

Hey Brendan,

Did you get your Storm II? I believe the Storms (at least the Storm II is) are world phones with dual band CDMA and quad band GSM. You'll only need the SIM if you're traveling to a different country and need to connect to their voice/data network. If you're just using the phone in the US, it'll be on Verizon's CDMA network; no SIM. Is the phone fully functional without the SIM in place?

Yeah got a used storm 2 replacing my storm 1. Haven't had a chance to play with the new S2 yet, was a long day at work yesterday and on top of that not feeling well. so I kind of slept from the time I got home yesterday afternoon until 9 this morning.

Hey chief verizon doesnt have sim cards i have a blackberry tour. I thought it was a sim card but found out its just really there for show really has no use.

no sim card on veizon unless your going international.. just call verizon with the ssn number on phone and they will activate it

Ok so I removed all buying requests and moved this to the nudibar. Any more info is good. I am also ref'ing crackberry too and getting alot of help there. They are unfortunately like RC is, very huge and sometimes you get good help, but local help like the people from MR is usually better

verizon uses Cdma technology, the sim card you are referring to is for using the phone overseas.
