They are but you can adjust them to African water quality. I have him for over 10 years now and its a 75 gallon tank and so far all the fish are doing fine. Just had to get rid of this one zebra that tried to kill my catfish and i mean literally kill him he was even aiming for his eyes. So i gave him to Wingo and now the zebra is dead cause some other fish killed him :sad2:

Its a mixed cichlid tank with africans and south americans. pH 8.4 all living large and in charge. Just dont get fooled by LFS that tell you you cannot combine the two they are wrong. I have my africans in there for over 3 years now. Before that it was just south american cichlids. I think i might introduce my parrots in there as well.
