....So.... Many of you know that I spent the first several months after joining MR writing my master's thesis. You know that I handed it in on March 22...

What I have not shared is that from March 22nd until today I have been WAITING to hear back from my advisor - fail? pass? honors?

Today I got an email that said I have been invited by my advisor and the dean to be congratulated in front of the school for my hard work on my thesis, and that I am to prepare a short presentation of my thesis which I will deliver at that time.

So I wrote back, "I am hoping this means I passed..."

I DID!!!!




It will be a little while yet before I find out whether or not I earned honors, but the stress of not knowing whether or not my thesis was accepted is OVER!!!!

...now i need a babysitter so i can go out and CELEBRATE!!!!!!!!



I love life, everyone and everything!!! I am really graduating and am really done!!!!! (i think NOW it's sinking in!!!)

Waiting is the hardest part. I waited almost four months to get my bar results. My wife takes her boards this summer (genetics), and has to wait almost as long to get back her results.

Family Education Israel Course​

The Jewish identity of many of today's Jewish families is weaker than in the previous generation. Jewish Family Education (JFE) offers Jewish families meaningful Jewish educational experiences with the goal of increasing Jewish family identity. This paper proposes a five-year JFE course of engagement with Israel whose overarching goals include: engendering in each learner a deep personal connection to, love of and pride in Israel designed with the goals of instilling desire to learn more about Israel; increasing knowledge about and engagement with Israel; increasing in the Jewish literacy level of parents and children; creating opportunities for families to interact; and establishing and maintaining a supportive and vibrant learning community.

I'm sure your family is very proud of you

...sadly, not Dr... should have been, but "just" a Master's...

Still, after more years of graduate school than i wish to admit, I'm glad to finally have a degree! (one advisor died after 5 years of classes/research/teaching in biochemistry/epidemiology, then I changed fields...and this degree took 4 years b/c it's in education, which I had not studied as an undergrad!!!!! Luckily, both degrees were fully funded!)

Anyway, graduation is May 17th, and after that you can all call me
