I, myself, hate flowerhorns but those who love them will really pay that price.

The price of the frys usually base on the parents, if the parents look good, they worth more while if the parents look terrible they are worthless. Besides the "Fungshui" aspect of it(notice the price is "18"XXXXX means "rich for sure"), admirers look for the heiritage.

Last year, I had 300 hundred frys from a good pricey male and a cheap female and it ended up I have to give out all them despite I try to trade trade them for just a couple other common cichlids.

The expensive ones are carefully bred to create a certain color and pattern and their cost are quite high even in the breeder's network.

One of the "Fungshui" aspect of it is related to the patch behind the eye. Notice the patch in the first pic? If the patch looks like some Chinese lucky word, it will worth thousands. I once have 3 out of 4 words from a lucky phrase. I have no more patience to collect them all because I hate their personality and gave them to my brother.

If you don't like the fish, you should not even take them but if you like them, it's at least proper to return something for the food and such of raising the babies even if he decided to give them away free.

i could never get my old flowerhorns to breed, they would just beat eachother up after the egg laying :lol2: talk about rough :bunnies:

:division: lolz yea sometimes you gotta give them away, cause you need space did that before but yea I did get some sorta payment/trade :flower: , and they do eat a lot of food ;0

the pictures are not that good, either saturday or sunday, ill get a high resolution camera and take some better pics... the frys got a lot pearls 2mp camera cant catch it since there still so small :frown:
