I just don't get what he is doing crashing into buildings! but I guess he paid the ultimate price today along with a few other victims, :( .

Planes really shouldn't be allow anywhere near NYC considering the state of the world today.

I couldn't believe this when I heard it today while listening to WFAN. They had been reporting that a small plane hit a building but then later reported that it was Lidle's plane. Very sad and very surreal with the timing. I heard that he has a six year old son too. Damn.

All low altitude flights are forbidden in the NYC vicinity except for helicopters, Coast Guard and NYPD water planes (especially over Midtown, UN and all Federal sites throughout the city and Upstate Reservoirs). They said he was supposed to be flying to White Plains but that route doesnt even go over NYC. So what was he doing over Manhattan ? I am so confused about that.

that not the question you need to ask really, what was he doing there !!

the question is ,how can NYC let another plane hit a building ,I mean ,if he can crash a plane into a NYC highrise ,then why cant terriorist? My next question is ,where were the Jet fighters that needed to be aware of any low flying plane near manhattan .seems to me we are in no way or shape ready for another terriorist attack

Thank g-d it was only a private plane and not a terrorist ,where do you stand now ,I think the safety of NYC in down the drain :( srry to say

RIP Lidle and passenger :(

NYC will never be safe from terrorist and planes will always be a weapon.its a shame that NORAD scrambled fighter jets after the plane crash.there is that strip of airspace along roservelt island that ends around 70something street then there they would have to turn of on i think that whiteplains route.i think last year a low-wing plane was flying around the statue of liberty before fighter jets buzzed him down. its crazy but best believe that this city will never be safe.but my heart goes out to his little boy.

KC, you can fly up and down the east river and the hudson at above 500 feet without any prior approval, also there is a east-west crossing over central park at 1,000 feet too. Its all legal.

Its an accident, maybe they could of tried harder to get over the east river and deploy their chute, but no one will know for sure why they couldn't.

post-season stress after a huge letdown/ loss?

helooooooo anyone think .... possibly suiscide ?

ps: planes fly around and over NYC all day long at low altitudes. there is not exactly "anti aircraft" gattling guns and AWAC Missle systems atop buildings to prevent terrorist or air-colisions

sux he died, but "why" is clearly possible a suiscide.

I know the yankees season was a total collapse, but to go through those extremes is crazy! I wouldn't be surprised if it was a suicide or something. Sheet the east river is pretty wide, i would rather try landing a plane there!

It sucks regardless though, i feel bad for his family!
