Wow, must have been nice to have your own land. I have some friends in Westchester that I go with, closer then LI for me too. Was looking for some guys to maybe get some land somewhere. I'm still not comfortable to go myself and hard to coordinate with my friends sometimes. It's tough to find land, and i'm not such a fan of public, I spend more time staying away from crazy people then I do putting in work hunting. I hear LI is really, really bad with ticks I can;t get anyone that wants to scout with me lol. I have property in Sussex, NJ so there are some on NY border there but again leaves me solo. Thanks, I'll look into some Jersey spots.

woooo that sounds sweet, land is so much money. I know a few guys that rented but the landowner also rented to someone else and it was just a crappy situation. I gotta ton of practice to get in but I itching to start scouting and just get into the woods!

I am a big hunter. I hunt my girlfriends land in Woodstock with a lake and several streams. For the last 4 years I have been planting maple trees, berries, clovers of land by the stream. Cut down openings and posted the property. People don't care. I catch hunters on the property all the time. If they are far from my sanctuary area and I think my deer population is healthy i let them stay. If not i rip through the area on my ATV and maybe shoot some targets until theu realize that all the deer left. Since I started to maintain it the pheasent and turkey population has been booming. I am from Colorado and did a lot of hunting their and Canada.

What kind of game do you hunt? Check out longislandfirearms.com Lots of hunters there and very nice people. You can use my girlfriends land for deer if I am still around. I am trying to get her to come back to Colorado with me. So I am praying I will be back there by deer season

woodstock ? where ? im from Saugerties for over 30 yrs.and i still have 35 acres

You get off the 87 and take the 28 towards Belleayre ski resort. You take that to another major road. You take that to millstream road and make a left at some dead end. Her house is at the top of the dead end. The yard has about 100 yards of flat land then starts to get very hilly and rocky. I assume its at the bottom of some mountain. I am not sure witch one. The house is in woodstock but most of the land is in beartown or bearville. I know its not the best description but it is what it is.

We think it used to be a hippie retreat. A lot of the trees have weird faces carved in it.

I have lots of friends from Saugerties, shocan and Kingston. My friend has jetskis at some marina in Kingston by a big blue bridge. I forgot the name of the river. We do dives there all the time.

My uncle has a number of acres up in beacon ny and he is an avid hunter both by bow and rifle , he is a Puerto Rican ted nugent , I'm not into hunting at all but can ask him if he would mind a fellow hunter in his next backyard hunting fiasco that him and his friends do.

Shark, Colorado and Canada That is great, I wish! I appreciate the offer and if your around I'll take you up on it. Still have some months to go, I broke out the target and bow last week, get the dust off. Honestly I saw deer every time I went out last year, just didn't have a good enough feeling to let one fly. I'm really hoping on getting a turkey with a broad head this year. Appreciate the website/forum name, I'm on huntingny and seems decent.

saltwater bk, you shoulda hung up the paint and got into hunting. I don't even know if I have it in me to take out any small/large game but a day in the woods just can't be beat unless it's a day underwater lol. If possible that be great, I already owe you but you'll have me for life after that. Whatever you need if I can help ya you know I'm there even without the hunting.
