Any ever do any hiking on MR?

Either tomorrow (Sun), or deffinitly Mon Am, I will embarking on a journey on to the Appalachian Trail, the AT Trail runs from Ga.-Maine.
Its called a section hike, I will be going from Pawling, NY-the Mass/Conn boarder and returning. It will problably be 4-5 day trip out. I have my tank set up for that time frame, so hopefully it will be fine...
Ill be bringing my camera and if there is a library or internet in any towns I hike thru, ill post them here....

Too bad you're aren't starting on this side of the Hudson. The Appalachian Trail is literally in my back yard.

I'm also up in Orange County near by the AT.

The AT is in my backyard too. Have a great trip Mike. The fall colors might be starting. Should be nice.

I always wanted to do the AT from end to end.

SOunds cool but the marine corps took the hiking out of me. lol I had a buddy who did the AT from end to end. He loved it. His nickname was Forest.

hey all, just returned this morning, im exhausted...it was a short but sweet hike, the colors were awesome and the weather was great. The nights fell to round 25-30F, but i was snug in my hammock and sleeping bag. I met some ppl on the way and at the shelter, my hiker chick fantasy almost came true when i got to a shelter before any1 and a hiker chick (michelle) arived, i looked up and said my thxs.....untill she said her "friend" john was comming up the trail..lol, DRAT! All in all my surgicaly repaired knees made some awesome ground, I did 40m in 3.5 days, with some inclines of 40-60 degrees, with a pack wght of 40lbs...which is way TOO heavy, could be fun to get some peeps away from the wife,kids, and reefs for a few days, i wouldnt mind some MR company next time..i took some pics enjoy

Mike looks like you had a great time. Thanks for the pix. The colors here are another week or two away from peak. Did you get caught outside last night in the severe thunderstorms that passed through this area?
