One of my former students was shot in the head by a gang-member's stray bullets a couple of weeks ago (he survived!) He was waiting for the bus with his 8-year old cousin and his aunt. He is a great student and is not at all part of the street life. If you have the means and would like to help out with his medical costs please use the link below. He came to NY after the earthquake in Haiti in 2010... his mom is still there... kid has enough things on his plate, doesn't need medical bills on top of them.
