We are watching Greta for a couple of days so we decided to take her to Chucky Cheese. I think they have these things all over the country. I have not been there as when my Daughter was young, my wife used to bring her with her friends.
The place is huge like a Home Depot on steroids. There were at least 1,000 kids who were "not" there, out of the 4 million kids that live on Long Island.
All of the rest of them were there and a good portion of them were playing this machine gun game which was positioned about 3' from my left ear. The thing had two machine guns on it and they never took a break.
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, ba,ban, bag, agn, aang,,. etc.
After a few minutes I even tried to jump in front of one of them to blow my brains out as I was getting flashbacks, but of course that didn't work.
I tried to get some food but they don't really serve anything that I would eat. I am sure the food is very good if you eat that sort of thing, but I don't. They don't really serve any seafood and the closest thing to that would be fried chicken wings. There was a salad bar but with all the little hands there it did not tempt me to much although I did have some spinach.
Greta loves the Pizza and ate an entire one herself.
Chucky Cheese himself is this rat or mouse, I am not sure, some type of rodent and I guess he is very entertaining as the kids were all screaming in delight for seemingly nothing.
The people working there were very friendly and they tried to help you with ordering, seating or sticking their fingers in your ears for you if you, like me was carrying a toddler and needed my hands for that.
The place is about as noisy as I assume the volcano Krakatoa was as it was erupting and destroying much of the ancient world. If I had my 2 I Pods with me, I would have blasted Lady GaGa and the Rolling Stones in my ears at the same time to quiet it down.
But Greta enjoyed it immensely and that is all that matters. Yes, I am old.

When my son was little we took him there 2 times. Both times he ended up with fevers and he was real sick. Never took him again. Then I had my daughter and she never got to expierence chuck e sneeze. We were not going through that with her. She even had a party invite there when she was 6 through a good friend where we declined the invite

True description of the place PaulB.
I've recently taken my son to the one in Hicksville. I had no intention of going there, my wife goes to get a mani/pedi next door and the baby and I usually wait in the car. I noticed the place (never went into one before but I've heard of them).
The baby is too small to let loose, but I do sanitize his hands afterwards.
I had no idea the place was that bad. But I guess it makes sense that it's a petri dish. If I go again I'll be more careful after reading the comments.

I know the feeling but to top it off at the end when you think is over its not .You have to make a line to check in their ticket for their .25$ prize you have to wait and they have to feed the tickets to the machine .and it makes a crunching sound like is eating the tickets.thats the part were I want to blow my brains out.lol!!

I didn't try that pizza. I am Italian, Sicilian actually (but born in Brooklyn like a true New Yorker American) And I wouldn't think it would be right if I were to spit it out in front of all the kids. But Greta loved it.
Those tickets went in the garbage as will all those coins or tokens, whatever they are as they are just a little larger than a quarter so I can't use them in parking meters
(I tried)

Lol I started crying of laughter when you said "chunky cheese himself is this rat or mouse, I am not sure, some type of rodent"

They recently changed the costume. At least at the one I took my girls to last. He used to look like a gang banging rat.

I HATE this place. Every time I go there are always hard core gang bangers with their little banger babies and half naked banger mommies.

Sound harsh? When I see bloods, crips and Mexican gang bangers (not sure of the gang affiliations there) it scares me silly because I have two little girls with me and I also enjoy life. Signs at the entrance about gang colors and weapons do not instill confidence.

I did not know that there was even a gang problem in NY/NJ until I started going to Chuck e...

I'm not a big fan of the place either, but as far as seeing Mexican gang members.... That's a little too extreme to me. Having said that, some of the little savages that run wildly in these places should be better monitored by their parents cause the have no idea of their limitations of course (they are children) but the parents act completely oblivious when it comes down to the kids behavior. My 2.5 cents.

I am Hispanic, so I am not over reacting because I see a group of Hispanics. Trust me, I know a gang banger when I see one... I am talking about fully tatted with gang tattoos, wearing their colors and talking to each other with the gang hand signs. It was pretty bad in the first one we went to in NJ, bad, but not as bad, in the Upper Manhattan location and about the same in a better part of NJ.

The unsupervised kids is another reason I hate the place. Little kids doing what they want with no parent in sight, pushing, shoving, starting fights. >ugh<

My mom now takes the girls to Dave & Busters (Not 100% sure on the name?), my wife says it is much better and they supervise the place and don't let things get out of hand.

I am Hispanic as well Alfred, and my wife (the boss) prefers Dave & busters as well, it's a little step above Chuck the rat, but it's no walk in the park either. I understand where Paul b and yourself are coming from and share the same feel for that place.

i thought chuck e cheese was a gopher, beaver, or a platypus.
it's always a zoo in there. i had many unfortunate attendings while my 3 kids were growing up.
the place could be the poster child for a contraception advertisement!!!!!
