Reef tank test kits for hot tub?

Wondering if I can use my test kits that I use for my reef tank for my hot tub to check ph ,alkalinity and calcium harness? I just bought mys first house 2 months ago and a good friend gave me a 3 man hot tub as a house warming gift but yea, just wondering if I would get a fairly accurate reading

Also , my buddy gave me these test strips for total hardness(too high), bromine(low which I can fix), chlorine,ph(seems to be too high), alk(seems ok), and cyanuric acid(low)........not sure if I trust these strips.....any advice will be helpful
