What is the best place in Europe for sightseeing, and is budget friendly? What country was the most memorable?
Since this is MR, are there any dive (or snorkeling) sites that should be on the "to do" list? :goldfish2

*As a side note, any recommendations of places to visit close to Italy...

malta, 60 miles from scicily. theirs a ferry that goes over. beautiful island

Croatia is a beautiful spot to visit in the summer great beaches and snorkeling plus it's about an 8 hour trip to Italy

From what I understand no visas needed as long as I have my passport, right?

@Edd actually there's a cruise that had one of its stops at Malta, which is another great destination.

@kres1024 I'm looking at Mljet and Brac, the views are spectacular.

i was their about 10 yrs ago and i only had a passport.
i did see divers their. the water is so clear you can see 15-20 ft down.

Mljet and Brac two good spots ,also check out Zagreb great for shopping and food and Zaton great for their beaches and nightlife..

Nice, I think I'm overly optimistic on the dive sites still no PADI certification not sure if I can fit that in my budget hehe.
Anywhere there's good food I'm there.

@Edd It's always better to stay with family/friends but I'll probably be traveling the last week by myself.

Bumping the thread, Are there any dive spots close enough to Pisa to go for the weekend?

I'm not PADI certified, but we'll see what happens in Greece.
