I have a planned location for my tanks but will need a new power outlet installed/gfci preferred. I just looked through google on expected cost and it stated around $220.

Damn that's expensive for 1 outlet! I rather use an extension cord ;x ha.

Me just being cheap but is there any electricians that can hook a reefer up?

220 to install a gfi outlet? do they have to run a new line or just swap out the outlet itself and replace with gfi?

the way you describe it, sounds like they have to run a new line. 220 i think would be a bargain for a new line. if you were local i would help you out if it were just the outlet.

I just want an outlet if anything. It will need to be a new line.

In my basement the outlets are only on one side while I need it on another side with the closest outlet being for my washer/drier.

I don't have anything to trade as my tank systems will be up and running in the near future. My tanks are BB as in nothing even in it yet. In actuality, the tanks are pending pick up but the storm is affecting time/date for pick up!

It should be a reg. outlet 120v. I think 220 bucks is great depending on if your basement ceiling is open. If its not open then its a better deal....

New breaker in main panel, new line ran and gfi outlet installed from what i understand from the thread...

Ceiling is open and the breaker box is about 20-30feet from where I want the outlet to be. I will take a video and see any recommendations.

if everything is that close thats pretty easy. if you have a friend that knows how to run romex cable, tie into a breaker in you main and wire a outlet i dont think it would cost more then 50-70 bucks for supplies and 20 min. of his time. i would also like to add make sure it gets its own gfi breaker in the main. (you can always do a regular breaker and use a gfi outlet)

Honestly I wouldn't put a gfi, to sensitive and could cause issues.

+1 if the outlets going to be in a hidden location, you can put a regular outlet and buy a bubble cover (a little bulky) but will protect from any splashing or drips. And if you want to be a little more secure you can have the electrician install an afci breaker(simply put a gfi breaker) like mentioned above. $220 is usually around what I charge its a reasonable price.

Ok, thanks guys! I guess I'll have to move where the tank is located cause I don't have plans on making any changes that takes $$ out my pocket when I can just choose a different location! Thanks guys!!
