Hi

Does anyone have any good recommendation?

I know Honda makes the best for the inverter but seem 1000 dollars is a little too much. So far I got is Yamaha and Honda, but both is a lot for emergency as I don't do camp. As I need to restock my nano (lost 500 dollars stock ) and cut a stupid tree that fall.

I am mostly looking to put a small fridge and a space heater (800 watt) and the pump and heater for my nano tank. I think 2000 watts is fine.

thanks.

It's a lot of money but Honda is very quiet and more suitable for tight houses if you can afford it. But nevertheless, it should be placed far from living humans or animals. If budget is a concern, I have also used the low cost ones from Home Depot, and they do work too.

Don't spend your money on Hondas or Yamahas. Out of the 2 I would choose the Yamaha but could never justify paying either companies prices for their generators when there are so many less expensive options.

The ONLY thing that they're better for is if you want to plug in sensitive equipment into them and that's just not a viable reason to demand the money they do for them.

I'll be getting a Yamaha EF2000 when the dust settles. Though I might sway to Honda if there's more accessible service centers/dealers near me.

Yes, there's many cheaper options ie Generac. Can probably find one double the power for a slight increase in price. But for apartment usage, I'm going to opt for the smaller more portable units.

I would rather buy it with quiet cuz neigorhood will complain about it being too loud so will ned turn it off at nights...it will effect your tank?

I would buy Honda eu2000

Jake

And those same neighbors would leave theirs running 24/7 if they had one.

Widdy when you're ready let me know I'll hook you up with long island Kawasaki. I'm like family with them.

My neighbor has a champion 9000 watt running and is quite loud. I can hear it running like a motorcycle. But I do understand who doesn't need electricity with a 80 year old women in the house. I'm sure at this time all neighbors would understand.

anyone tried a Generac inverter generator? They go around for 600 compare to 1000 for the honda and yamaha?

thanks

Inverter as an AC DC Inverter or a generator?

If you mean AC DC Inverter I suggest getting one to keep as a last resort.

If your housing arrangements allow you to operate a generator safely you can pick up a generator to keep a tank alive for under $300.

Generators are like anything else and the more bells and whistles you want the more its going to cost.

If you go with a AC DC inverter get one that connects directly to the car battery and put the lowest AWG wire you can find, if directions say to use 6 AWG go with 4.

No he's talking about generators. Yamahas and Hondas are inverted giving them much cleaner output so you can hook sensitive instruments directly to them as opposed to the home depot/lowes types that are meant for construction sites to run tools and such on the worksite and produce nasty sine waves that will fry delicate electronics.

i have the older model of this....which i think i only paid less than half the price last year.....when it wasn't in demand. the only difference i can see is the older model doesn't have the twistlock outlet just two 120v three prongs outlets.
ran it 24/7 for 8 days straight since 10/29 until 11/6...getting anywhere from 12-14 hrs. per 3 gal. tank....tank said 4 gal. but can only put in about 3 safely. quieter than the generac. variable speed engine....much more quiet when running smaller load.

ran "sensitive equipments" with no problems. these are the ones tested and none had any problems....vortech's , ai sol blue, vho's with electronic ballasts, t5's, various american marine monitors/controllers, reefkeeper lite, reefkeeper 2, external skimmer with bubble blaster pump, mag pumps, euro pumps, eheim pump, maxijets, ceramic heater, fan, laptops, modem, iphone/galaxy s3 & chargers. also ran boiler/furnace and lamps.

I ran the honda eu2000i generator that my neighbor graciously lent to me during the power outage I had for three days. I ran the honda for about 8-10 hours a day on 1 gallon of gas. Powered up my tank which had a vortech and it ran it no problem.

electricgeneratorsdirect.com recommends the yamahas over the hondas supposedly due to a better motor.

I'm thinking of buying either a honda or a yamaha.....Would like to do whole house but my extra $'s are going to repair my hvac system.....this year.

Yes, thanks

The inverters can run computers and more (expensive equipment). Hopefully Black Friday will have something come up.

Ok here is the fix for this....

Inverter Generators are ridiculous in price. IMO not worth it. You only need Inverter type for sensitive electronics. So here is the fix!

So you want to put your $2000 TV, and your APEX, and your laptop on.....

Go and pick up a couple UPS power supplies...... You can use them as an inbetween, it will protect you from the dirty electric and also from power surges.

$3999

Get yourself a few UPS and you are golden!!!

200W inverter this thing will run my 67 in TV.....
