Has anyone gotten their fdny refrigerant engineer license? If so how long ago, and some input on how hard the test was, also what about the practical what kind of system they presented?
i have mine due to being in local 94. I took my tests over ten years ago and the format has changed. Now all the tests are done via computer. I took my practical live at the queens courthouse.
Hey santa, ill be taking mine at 9metro tech. The written and practical are through computer now (luckily). How about the written? Did you find it hard? How long did you study for? I've been studying for about almost a year. I've acquire the study manual from turner, was told that's all I needed to study to pass written. I've also aquire the biography study manuals that the test is based on. The only problem is that each book is like 1500 pages minimum and there's about 7 or 10 of them. By the end of May ill be going for test unless I feel ready before that to go take it. Any pointers or advise I can use?
I was trained by local 94 training school. They basically teach you what you need to pass the tests. I found the written easy and i also took it via computer at 9 metro tech. I failed my first practical cause i just wasn't ready. Passed the second time around after taking private lessons. The practical WAS NO JOKE, not sure how it is now. I heard good things about TURNER and how they prep their students. Good luck with it! I wish i could help more but the FDNY really made big changes to their tests since i took them. One thing, you lucked out taking the practical on computer, because doing it live they tried to trick you and tried to confuse you.
