I mentally answered this in a Lewis Blacks voice.
BECAUSE THEY ARE $3,000!

He didnt mention a lawn service, his logic was based upon personal time, fuel cost, energy saved, and the price of zero turn mowers. Not sure why the zero turn mower is the standard he uses but whatever.

I paid 350 for a Husquevarna self propelled mower Im still on the original 5 gallons of gas I started with. It would take me over 20 years to spend $1,000 mowing my lawn. I cannot put a price on my personal time but lets just say the break even may be in about 20 years.

Is that robot going to last that long?

A lawn service will cost $50/month based on twice a month visits. Consider 8 months of growing season you have 7.5 years to equal the cost of the robot.

Is that robot going to last that long?

Not saying it is not cool, just dubious about the Kentucky math.

Video please. I am so into robotics.
The official website should have video in the first place! :(

I am searching YouTube right now. hehe.

How well does it handle pot corners and pathways or area around raised flower beds?

Extremely Simple. There are these magnetic "coils" that you outline your zones with. One zone is the side lawn, one zone is the front, and one is the back. One robotic mower is in each zone. Once the coils are laid out, outlining your zones, the little robot automatically has the zone "map" programmed in its system and knows exactly where all ends are. As stated on the website, it continuously mows little by little all the time. When its low on power, or it starts to rain, it automatically senses it, and goes to its docking station by itself. You just sit back, relax, and enjoy. And yes these things are extremely quiet. I got these robots mainly because I fly alot and do a lot of business. Plus when I am away, I can see exactly what the robots are doing on my android, what their status is, and overall info.

A sweet security feature this also has is that if anyone tries to steal these robots off your lawn (lol), if they get out within 200 feet outside of the outlined zones, the robots block themselves and shut off, plus you get an alarming message on your android. Also has a GPS locator so you can catch the b****rd who took them. Basically this is like OnStar for your lawnmower.

In case any of you are wondering, I do also have a John Deere X749 Tractor Mower which I used up until this point. Great mower if anyone is ever looking for a tractor mower if you have a large yard this is the one to have!

Oh right, we are talking about 1 1/2 acres. I have maybe half an acre, which is what the robot is rated for in the website.
So that would need $9,000 of robot which is still a stretch even with Kentucky math.
