Hello MR,

My neighbors, who happen to be my best friends, need to have their Koi pond disassembled, re-lined, and re-assembled with the addition of a deeper section in the main section (left).
It was my bright idea for them to modify their existing pond, when my good friend Richie (rkaragozler) was giving away his pre-fab kidney shaped pond, and water fall. My neighbor, Ralph dug a channel, and connected the two, but there is a small leak, and he has given up hope finding it. Their hose has been running on a trickle since last August to keep the pond filled. In addition, the deepest part of the pond is no more then 18", and they have three very large Koi. THANK GOODNESS we had a mild winter, or else they may not have made it.
Anyone interested in this project? We have no idea how much something like this would cost, but if someone can tell us, that would be helpful as well.
The entire "structure" is about 15" long, and maybe 5' at its widest point.

I can come take a look and see what's going on but to have it done professionally isn't going to be cheap since they want it to be removed and rebuilt. If budget is an issue and they can find able labor, I can come up with a plan and get them the materials if they cover the time. PM me if you want to talk.

Done!!!!

Hello MR,

Just wanted to give you guys and gals an update.

After a very long and tiring weekend, my neighbors and I finished their pond. Ralph dug the pond as deep as he could (about 20 inches) before he started to hit ground water. He also widened it by several feet from the original "channel" and where the prefab pond was.
We used a 20mil pond liner and used beach sand as a base and collected rocks to re-build the walls and waterfall.
The fish were housed in a kiddie pool with filtration and plants to hide behind while we worked.
Here are some pics!
Thanks to everyone who offered advice/and or help!

Will be starting my very own creek build and separate pond build in the near future. Will definitely be reaching out to my MR peeps for some advice...
Thanks!
