Question for my fellow Dog Lovers!

Does brushing a dog really limit shedding? I have a rotty pup and she is starting to shed, so I was thinking maybe brushing her once or twice daily would limit the shedding.

Make sure you do it daily, not only to remove the hair but to get the pup used to the feel of the brush. At first she might not like it but treats and praise while brushing will get her to love it pretty quickly.

Make no mistake about it, brushing does not reduce or limit shedding. What it does is control it. All the fur that would normally fall out and cover all your furniture and clothing is now being systematically removed by the brush and dumped in the trash. Same amount of fur coming off your pooch, just done in a way that makes it more bearable.

So I bought a shedding blade today, because the woman sold me on it. I was always a big fan of the brush. I tried the blade and did not like as did my pooch. So I think I am gonna return it and get a brush instead.
