What's a good outdoor HDTV antenna?

Need your opinion... What's a good outdoor HDTV antenna that is built well to withstand the elements and has great reception for local channels? Looking to cut my DirecTV service. Costing too much... Thank you for your help.

i thought antennas were obsolete? i thought u have no choice anymore now that everytrhing is digital you need either cable service or satalite...

All transmissions are now digital but as long as you have a digital tuner (built into all newer sets) the good old days of rabbit ears work.

Winegards have always been good antennas but will also depend on how close you are to the signal. If you haven't looked check this site for digital stations close to you http://www.hdtvantennalabs.com/location/

I saw a bunch of HDTV antennas on eBAY that'll pick up local channels so figured I'd ask to see what people are using.

I looked at that already. Just wanted to get an idea since alot of us are in the tri-state area and within a 50 mile radius of local broadcasting signals. Some of the antennas they have out there are so cheaply made and have a rotating feature. I was wondering how durable those are.
