Do you have that ap find my iphone? I know you can locate it via gps etc you can also try calling the cab company although odds you will get it back from a call is quite slim..maybe try calling the phone itself?

You can also lock it or erase it remotely too.
There was tethered jailbreak on the phone so once it dies, you cant boot it back up unless you have a computer. Im sure who ever that cab driver was wont know how to turn it back on.
