Hey guys what are you being on Halloween? Or your kids?
My Daughter lives in the West Village of Manhattan with her husband and they always walk in the Halloween parade there. This year I built them as a costume, the Brooklyn Bridge. The parade goes right near the Bridge.
It is 13 feet long and all lit up just like the bridge. The hard part was that it needs to fold up to fit in a subway and an elevator. I will finish it tomorrow as I am just waiting for the lights, then I will take a picture. But if you see the parade on TV, look for it. It will be hard to miss

I don't dress up (haven't in years) but my 7 and 9 year old are going trick or treating locally. My Son dressed up as a Team 6 Navy Seal and my daughter as a little devil complete with pitchfork horns and tail.

Since my son doesn't really like chocolate guess who gets to eat his?

But is it structurally sound? I'll need to see some RC cars drive across it before I trust it! lol

Of course it is sound, there are about 15 cars on it.
My favorite costume I made for her was the Empire State Building. It was 8' tall and was motorized. It had three byplanes flying around it and a monkey (King Kong) that would jump about every 30 seconds and take a swing at the plane.
She was also a large bowl of Linguini and clams, with real clams and a large fork about 4' long that had the linguini wrapped all around it, and her head.
You had to be there, but they all made it in the newspaper.
I love this stuff :fight2:

I have pictures of all the costumes but that was before digital photography and I would have to look through family albums to find them. Most of them were also in the newspapers. Here is this years, it is almost completed.

That has to get on the subway?? I have to ask though, I notice a trend in all of these costumes and since they are so large requiring a lot of personal space... what do you have against her significant other? I think the next one should be a deep sea angler with bioluminescence. That would look awesome.

It has to get in a subway, an elevator and a few clubs. It folds up kind of small like in the picture below where it was still under construction. The roadways fold up along with the lights and cables. I am looking for a small police car and some blinking red LEDs so I can also make an accident. I have those LEDs on my boat but I don't feel like going all the way there to get them.
My Daughter and her husband get in this costume.

I have plans to make her inside a fish tank, with real goldfish but it will be too heavy, even though the water would be only 1" thick around her. Maybe next year.

Thanks. This one costs almost $400.00. That was mostly for the 12 volt LED lights.
I added an accident with skid marks. The lights on the police cars are blinking LEDs. I took apart the cars and drilled in the LEDs. I melted and smashed the cars for the accidentIt looks kind of nice.
