this is a beautiful 2 year old lesser crested female cockatoo shes absolutely beautiful very docile very tamed i pet her and twist her head around shes very friendly and shes very quiet dont make too much noise like african greys except for some phrases shes picked up like hello, phone ring and wistles best thing about lesser crested they dont get as big as umbrella cockatoos or bigger crested cockatoos there the perfect size about the same as african greys shes pulling her feathers out because i dont have time to spend with her and they need attention and affection ther very smart and need to be occupied with companionshi and toys they go for $1700 and the cage itself reails for $430 im selling both with toys for $500

This bird is plucking its feathers due to skin irritation from poor diet. Please take this bird to an avian vet asap and check for PBFD (Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease). Bigger cage is a must, they need a cage of at least 3 flight wingspans of the bird.


Note: Milk or meat should never be given, as both meat and milk heat the blood of these birds, and cause skin irritation which impels the poor creatures to pluck out their feathers.

There are many reasons why a bird can pull it's feathers out. Besides what you mentioned above, stress can cause a bird to pull feathers, and boredom can cause this too.

Your bird is cute, despite the missing feathers. I was looking at your post and Ryan took one look and said "No more pets!"

Agree....I once had the pleasure of owning a Ducorps Cockatoo that was going through the same issue. I took her to the vet only to find out that she had PBFD. She was medicated and grew all her feathers back:).....

i leave cage open all day he flys around the room when he pleases hes diet is extensive so its not nutrition but i have noticed he taking his feathers out when i dont spend time with him needs new home with more attention

happy to inform everyone feathers are growing back i bought him more toys and played wuth him a lot also price drop $500 for all
