So!
this is the history

my father-in-law purchased this, at the time he was doing construction work for a supermarket, I know he was gonna use this to control the belts (where you put your stuff and it comes to the cashier)

so, he purchased the wrong one and it didn't work for what ever he was doing since this is an electrical part there was NO RETURN for this item

he paid $356 and I have the receipt

he asked me to sell it online but it's been 2 years and no one seems interested in this even with a 95% discount

this is taking space in my closet and I don't really want to to throw this out if is usable for some one else.

there are some pictures of the item
I'm not sure what this it

I installed many of those reversing starters, but don't need one. They use them on any 3 phase system where you would want to reverse a motor, like a dumbwaiter. I don't think that was for the belts where you put the groceries, that one is for the belt where they unload the trucks into the supermarket. The grocery belts use smaller starters and they are not 3 phase or reversible.
You have single phase systems in a home but in a commercial place they have 3 hot lines feeding the place. It makes it easier to reverse motors with 3 phase. It also allows smaller wires to be used for the same horsepower motors.
