I use to dose carbon when I'd remember and the same with florapride, I had them running under a 24w gro bulb I've then since changed the bulb temporarily to a pink one.

just get a substrate made for planted tanks and deff get your self a box or 2 of plant tabs, those are my best kept secret besides excellent water quality and I consider this tank "low budget".

I really want to take this tank down, let me know if you want any and i'll give you a package deal.
