heating in a 3g pico reef

Hello folks. New guy here, but have been keeping a 46g reef for 4 years or so. I am thinking about trying this little 3g pico for my desk at work http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... atid=15493. The only problem is, I am unsure how to heat such a small tank.

Marineland makes this heater for small tanks http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... atid=18445, but it is preset at 76 degrees. Isn't that a bit low for a reef tank? Not only that, but do you think it would have the power to keep the temp constant if the office dips down to 64 or so? If not, are there any other options out there? Thanks for the help!

The link says 78 F. Is that a misprint?

I don't think it will have a problem with just 3 gallons.

You are right...it does say 78. That sounds a little better to me. So ya think it will be OK to use?

Yeah, it should be okay. But I'd get one and leave it in the package until I ran the tank a few days and checked the temp, the heat from the HOB might be enough.

i recommend the 6 inch preset heaters that are out there for $15. not the always on ones meant for bowls, but the tetra heaters for example that come on and off at 78. ived used them for years and they work great.
