I've had a saltwater tank for several years now; however I recently decided to ditch my custom setup (which wasn't working) and just put it into a nano cube. The tank has been running since October, but I recently molded all the rock together so I could start placing corals in the tank. Tank currently has live sand, lots of live rock, 2 clowns, 1 damsel, 1 orchid dottyback, 1 green bubble tip, 1 clam, 1 hammer coral, 1 mushroom, and lots of snails and crabs. The nano cube works great and the corals are responding nicely to it as well. Temperature stays constant all the time so there is no heater. Right now I don't have a skimmer, but I will eventually purchase one (currently use carbon from time to time to help get out smaller particles).

Nice tank. I'm currently in the process of switching over to a nano-cube as well and I like the idea of molding the rocks for stability. What did you use to attach them together and do you know if coralline algae will grow over it?

I used a product called holdfast to mold the rock together. It worked ok but I was somewhat limited with my epoxy choices because I needed to keep everything under water while it was setting. I think marine depot sells it for about $8 but the local fish stores charge about $16. The coralline algae should grow over it after a while. The tall "fan" looking thing at the front of the tank used to be a bright orange plastic decoration but the algae completely grew over it after a while.....

CLAM TROUBLE: So I just bought this clam less than 6 days ago and I wake up to find it dead this morning!!! It looked great yesterday before the lights went off. I'm calling the lfs to see if they will refund my money. I'm not sure what happened so if anyone has any ideas........? All the other live items i've purchased from the lfs have taken extremely well to my tank.
