Wow this site is huge. I have been running searches to learn about cleaning crews but I have not got what im looking for yet. So here goes my first question at Reffs.org

How large of a cleanup crew is typically required for a 20g nano reef? And does how new the setup is effect the cleanup crew?

You really don't need a clean up crew until your tank has finished it's cycle. When you have 0's for amm. nitrites and nitrates then you can add a few clean up animals. For your 20, you probably won't need that many to begin with. A few snails and a hermit or two should be all you need.

If you keep up on your maint. & water changes, stock fish slowly, don't over feed and use ro/di water for top offs and nsw then you shouldn't see any major problems with algea. There are several different types of snail and all eat different things.

The best thing I can tell you is to read, read, read and then read some more. Look here http://www.reefs.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=33928 and don't be afraid of this either http://www.advancedaquarist.com/

Good luck with your new tank and don't be afraid to ask questions (but when you do, you'll almost always be asked about tank params so make sure you know  ) or post pictures.
