Gonna steal the idea of a public thread for people to view my nano build-off entry.
Please feel free to give criticism, compliments or suggestions.

My ultimate goal is to have the most vibrant and diversly colored nano as possible. I think I have decided to concentrate on soft corals, maybe some deepwater sps  . I am very picky about my aquascaping and want my nano to be distinctive but am doing this project on a injured workers budget :? ...should be challenging :D

i love your aquascaping. very nice rock shapes you picked out.

i discussed with someone the various setups so far and i liked yours and guy's rockwork the best so far. very nicely done. i agree, aquascaping is very critical to a setup's success and presentation (only behind lighting imo).

i'd figure out the specific species you want and then design your flow directions/rates. then start plopping the frags in.

rough sketches of what you'd like to end up with also help (not that it ever turns out that way for me, d'oh!).

Been awhile since an update, been letting everything run and waiting for an algea problem to subside.

But today I was thinking and its been 3 weeks to a month without a water change so I better do somthing, right?

Wrong!!!!!!
When I first started this I wanted to do somthing different from everyone, with this in mind I decided to try "Miracle Mud" in one of the chambers as well as a dsb. There seemed to be quite alot of negative feedback on running a dsb, but I did it anyways and as far as I could see NOONE had EVER used a "miracle mud" style filtration, The results so far have been encouraging!
After the initial algea bloom died off/was eaten for the most part I cleaned off my glass and did a water 2g water change, that was 3-4 weeks ago.
I havent cleaned the glass or done anything besides top off
and it still looks like I just cleaned it!!! I am talking NO ALGEA!!
Nitrates are at 0
nitrites 0
hardness 500
alk 450
ph 8.4

I am going to see how long I can go b4 I acually need to do another water change.

I have a damsel and a lawnmower blenny like 8 snails and 2-3 crabs and I feed every day, so its not a small bio-load either!!!!

So far I say
VIVA LA MIRACLE MUD!!!!!!!!
