Your nano setup is looking fantastic so far! I love that custom stand!

Peace,

I just read that thread

Very sweet looking stand, I like the viewing holes even better than just a clear view, I think it sort of "Frames" the picture if you will.

One thing I thought I would mention, when cutting Plexiglass or acrylic its even easier if you first make the cut with a sharp blade on a table saw, but make the cut 1/8" to 1/4" big. Then route it with a straightedge to get the nice clean edge that glues well.

Doing it that way is much easier on the router bit, and it gums up a lot less

I can't wait to see the canopy, I wonder how a stand like that would look in varnished mahogany.

Just found this forum. I was wondering why I wasn't getting any feedback on my tank. I feel like a moron.
Thanks for the compliments.
I used my table saw to cut the acrylic close and then made some jigs that were the size i needed. Used some double backed tape and stuck them together and routed them flush. Works great.
Heres an update.

I just love the viewing port. That's awesome. I was thinking of doing something that looked like a divers mask from the inside but it looked far too lame to keep.

Great job!!

That looks really great. Did you have any plans for it or did you just build it as you went? I would love to do somethin like that.

I sort of had a plan in mind. The plan had nothing to do with the stand though. I'll dive more into that later. Once the plan has been achieved and photographed I will go into detail.
I build custom cabinets for a living. I launch my online store in May 1, 2005. I have a few goodies on the site now but not the store.
I can't post a link on reefs.org for sponsership easons but if you go too w...aquariumaccents.c.. you will see the site.
Here is a pick of another project that is going on right now. Enjoy.

You do beautiful work. I took a few years of carpentry at the local Tech school. I hope to be able to build something like that.

Thanks Will. I try to make nice looking things but I also try and do unique things as well.
I hope my tank is in contention for the nano build off. I'm hoping my nack for carpentry will make up for my lack of tank husbandry. Guy and Ricordia have some nice tanks. Certainly better husbandry and pluming skills then myself.

 Thanks Agfahy, but I'm wishing I had your carpentry skills after trying to build a canopy for my nano this weekend. It didn't turn out anything like the image I had in my head!

Everyone look at MArillion's coral in his nano. Talk about craming alot into a little space. Good job Mar.
