How long has it been running? Isnt the skilter noisey? Ive heard horror stories of those things...on my 5.5gal tank i took a Tetratec PF 150 slapped a light on the back and made it a fuge..Lots of guys on here use the AC 300 and 500...Another alternative instead of a skimmer...Looks really good though... :D

6 mo now. Yes the skilter is very noisy, but it's only on during the day when no one's home. It was recommended by my LFS. There didn't seem to be many options for a 5G tank. I have to say though, it has been working like a charm.
