Wave maker

I am tring to come up with a good wave maker for a nano size tank. If you use a wave maker How many waves per min do you have it set for. I have been looking around and I think from 1 to 10 would be a good number to shoot for.

I'm not really a big fan of powerstrip type wavemakers anymore. The SCWD seems to be a reliable option.

I am thinking of making more of a mechanical device. Kind of like a billows(spelling?) pump. There are a lot of motors out there to chose from and I was just tring to figure out where to start from.
