27 watt combo pc

7 gallon with built in refugium/sump thing

I am running carbon for 3 days a month and phosban all the time.

It has a Rio 600 pump with a DIY spraybar for good flow and distribution.

Cleanup crew : 1 emerald crab , 2 margarita snails, 4 mex dwarf hermies,
2 dwarf scarlet hermies, 1 dwarf blue leg hermie, 5 nessarius snails.

I know and my tank acts like it needs more. However, my algae is almost gone. After the hair algae went away I had a cyano bloom. Now the cyano is going away so I'll probably get hiar aglae again. hehehe

Nice tank! Planning on putting any fish in there? Maybe an octopus...jk  . Why do you run the carbon and Phosban? Because of your Cyano and hair algae blooms? Keep the pics coming.

I spy a pseudochromis...I like the fungia, I wish I could find one that small! Your tank is very low profile, without a lot of pumps, heater, etc. visible.

- Ya that's what I was trying to do for asthetic reasons. Everything is in the back sump/refugium. I really don't like tanks with all that equipment laying around. I think all tanks should have thier equipment in a compartment. The reason being is :
1) I will never lose life due to being sucked in or spit out.
2) If I have a short in a wire it will localize itself to the back.
3) I am to organized all the time. (Anal)
4) I can maintanance anything without disturbing the tank.

-I am running phosban because my algae was growing like a midget on crack.
-I run carbon because every once on a while the water smells funny. In addition, the carbon super polishes the water and it looks crystal clear.

This is quite possibly the most beautiful reef I have ever seen. No ****. Every reef I see is just packed with life. That's fine, but in the real world, you just don't have so many things packed into 5-10 gallons of water. What you did is isolate a few specimens, and then, through simplicity of design, accentuate their beauty. I haven't started my reef yet, because I have been trying to get all of the right stuff first, and I'm not rich. Seeing your reef has finally given me an Idea of what I want to do with mine. Thanks man.

That is a very nice compliment.

I feel that it is important to let your tank "grow in". If you jam pack it from the get go then where are you in a year? I believe this leads to tank crashes because the corals start to massively compete causing dead tissues and such. I also placed my galaxy and torch coral in a very strategic spot. I call it natural xenia control.
