Shin Mao 30 gal

Hi all......almost picked up a Shin Mao 30gal with protein skimmer, etc in the back. Comes with a satnd and flourescent lighting.....

Hit with hurricane Sandy and need to fix my downstairs to get a bigger reef tank.

Been out of the saltwater side for many years and wondering if Shin Mao is any good? Looks mighty cheap looking and have a feeling it is not a good brand..

i've never heard of this brand...but IME im always wary of products from china....usually bad craftsmanship and cheaper materials. plus it looks like a bootleg solana from the website...and im almost sure its not quality glass too

cube or rectangular? for a cube, u cant go wrong with the old solana 34. and in terms of rectangular...u need to see what brands make the dimensions u prefer....i like deep blue

Most likely will go with a cube. Interested in plug and play, Red Sea type but maybe less expensive...

Looked at Deep Blue and liked their line. Thanks for the heads up!

try finding an older solana, they're AIO and pretty nice for the price
