  1. Stop the hypocrisy

<blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote It depends. What are the dimensions of the 30g??
  2. Just bought a magnavore magnet.

My new tank will have 1" thick glass panels. ANy suggestions on which model to get?
  3. Trigger Questions?

Well, I never said my huma was anything but a wimp. You never can tell (until it's to late).
  4. Chitons in DSB?

Chitons?!?!? Oh, I thought you said you had the Clintons in your DSB. Nevermind.
  5. Trigger Questions?

I have had a huma trigger for about 4.5 years. He was about 3.5" when I bought him, and he is now about 6". When I first got him, he was in a 45g breeder tank (36"x18"). About 3 years ago, he was moved to a 90g, where he remains today. He is in the tank along with 5" spiny box, 4" sailfin...
  6. Fish intro with Lunar Wrasse

A friend of mine at the office added a 6" lunare to a 90g that was already home to 6" Blueface angle and huge mapa puffer. Although the fish all appear to be getting along ok, the blueface has had a cloudy eye a few times. We suspect that the wrasse is harrasing the angle.
  7. Looking for opinions on circulation schemes for a 400g tank

Nathan, now I understand how you have your tank plumbed. Extending the drains for the closed loops up through the bottom and then out through the side of the overflow chambers was a pretty slick idea. I will have to give that some thought. But I am running out of time, so I will have to make...
  8. How many tanks do you have?

I have been maintaining 3-4 tanks for the past few years. The total number of tanks stays pretty much constant, although the size of the tanks tends to change (you know how it is). Right now, I am running: 1) 175 Oceanic bow front FOWLR tank in my office 2) 200 Oceanic reef tank at home 3) 90...
  9. Dual stage Ca++ reactors...overrated?

Thanks for the input and suggestions. Although you are correct that the CR622 will be more than adequate for my 200, I plan to replace my 200 with a larger tank early next year when I move. The new reef will probably be around 350 gallons. In addition, I an going to have a 180 FOWLR tank that...
  10. M.E.Milz's Tank Photos

Thanks for the complements. Here are the answers to some of the questions that have been asked. The sandbed is about 5" deep and does not include a plenum. I did, however, bury a shelf made from plastic eggcrate about 1.5" below the top of the sandbed to keep fish from burrowing too deep and...
  11. M.E.Milz's Tank Photos

My lighting comprises 3x 250 watt 6500K Iwasaki MH bulbs run by a Universal MH Retro kit, and 2x 6' 160 watt VHO actinics run by an Icecap ballast. The lights are mounted in a DIY canopy. I did this because the tank is 7' long, and I wanted to spread the MH's out a little (as compared to a...
  12. M.E.Milz's Tank Photos

I am Mike Milz (i.e., M.E.Milz - posting from home). First of all, a big thank you to the Cheese for taking the time to post my photos and to post a link for me. I greatly appreciate your help with this. One of these days, I will figure this stuff out and set up a webpage. And thanks to the...
